Woodham Walter village lies 2 miles off the A414 between Danbury and Maldon. It possesses plenty of the ingredients of an attractive and vibrant historic Essex village. It is a thriving community with a population of approximately 500. Woodham Walter has an ancient and beautiful Parish Church, village hall and separate meeting room, Bell Meadow which is a village green space, a primary school, a nursery school, together with two golf clubs, a holiday lodge park and a three public houses. Woodham Walter benefits from numerous community groups and activities for all ages.

There are some fine walks in the countryside around Woodham Walter. Some of the paths provide links to Little Baddow, Danbury, Woodham Mortimer, Maldon, Ulting and Langford all of which border our Parish. Woodham Walter is a village with many fine views.

The Parish has an agricultural tradition offering varied land use pattern that includes arable and pasture land. The canalised River Chelmer runs west to east along the northern boundary.

Woodham Walter Parish Council represents the interests of the people living in and around the village of Woodham Walter.
